A STEP FURTHER IS OUR STANDARD

Chef Marcus started working in the culinary industry when he was just 16 years old as a dishwasher at a small seafood restaurant in Miami. He gained experience as a prep cook, busier and server in less than 2 years.

While earning a Bachelors degree in Journalism and Graphic Communication at Florida A&M University, he decided to continue his culinary journey of becoming a top international chef. Joseph climbed the ladder at various restaurants in Tallahassee, Florida including Food Glorious Food (Fine Dining), Broken Egg Eatery (Brunch), Ted’s Montana Grill (American) and most notable, The Governors Club Tallahassee (Private Club), where he gained valuable experience working closely under his mentor, Executive Chef Gilbert Rodriguez.

Chef Marcus was his right hand man and team leader for all events ranging from banquets to special private events. They worked together on 12-course anniversary dinners at members’ homes, wedding special wine tastings and cooking classes. Chef Marcus served Florida’s Governor, university presidents, senators and other top leaders.

Chef Marcus worked with Head Master Chef Daryl Shular at the Atlanta Athletic Club. Having the opportunity to work with a master chef has opened many doors for chef Marcus and equipped him to own his craft as a culinary artist through Above & Beyond Personal Chef, LLC. Joseph is cultivating his own path of creating innovative, fine fusion foods.
